Biographical Sketch
Bingdi Chen got his B. S. in materials science and engineering at Jilin University in 2001. Then, he joined Deren Yang’s group to pursue his Ph.D degree at Zhejiang University. His Ph.D study concerns carbon nanotube-based multifunctional nanosystem for nanobiomedical application. The related work has been published on J. Mater. Chem. Chen has published 18 papers in journals, including Adv. Mater., Chem. Commun., J. Phys. Chem. B/C, J. Mater. Chem., Nanotechnology etc. Currently, his research interest lies in the design of integrated nanosystem for cancer diagnosis and treatment.

RESEARCH INTERESTS
• Nanobiomaterials: Synthesis of nanoscale materials for biomedical applications with emphasis on carbon nanotubes based nanohybrids as drug delivery system and highly efficient contrast agents for multimodal cellular imaging.
• Anticancer nano-medicine: Novel nanotechnologies of capturing circulating tumor cells for early cancer detection by the combination of advanced nanomaterials with the newly discovered cancer killing activities of healthy human granulocytes.
