The First Sino-US Forum on Nano Biomedicine Held at Tongji

The First Sino-Us Forum on Nano Biomedicine was held at the auditorium of Medical Building, Tongji, on 23rd May. US. Scholars and experts from Georgia Institute of Technology and Clemson University; and their Chinese colleagues from Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tongji University, Shanghai Maritime University, Tianjin University and Chinese Academy of Sciences have an in-depth discussion and exchange views on a wide range of issues on the latest developments in the Nano biomedical world.

At the forum, Dr. Pei Gang, president of Tongji University and academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences delivers a speech, which says that the fields of nano, information, biology and cognition (NIBC), as the internationally accepted scientific forefront, are also key fields to the development of the scientific productivity of a nation, thus the combined research of nano and biomedicine manifests great opportunity as well as challenge for the development of basic scientific research and industries. Prof. Pei also expresses his hope for Tongji people’s courage to shoulder important tasks at the time of difficulty and challenge, and for this interdisciplinary forum to become the epitome of the rapid development of nano biomedical research in Tongji and in China.
